Doing what is morally right is more important than following social customs. For example, the youth of America is being sucked into the “party scene” by their older peers. This is bad because they often end up drinking and abusing illegal substances in order to make themselves feel more mature. If teenagers would make decisions based on their first instincts and gut feelings then they would find a much better way to have fun with their friends. Another example of why it is bad to follow social customs, as opposed to going with your conscience, has to do with voting for things in governemtn. The citizens of most countries often find themselves voting for certain things based on what the government thinks is best for them. However when most of these topics are thoroughly explored the smarter decision to benefit the people is normall the opposite of what the government wants. This is why people should not let society make decisions for them and people should do what is morally correct.
